Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat allah wa barakatoh
Date : Thursday Dec-22.
Action : Exit interview..
It's the first time to speak about my job as a professional developer for a foreign company...
So, let's start the story from the begining..
There is not much to tell about how did i get the job or something.. simply i was chatting with a friend who was gethering some people to start working for that company (he is a senior team manager) he said "u wanna work for Critical Sites ?" i said "why not" he said "send me ur C.V" they needed a lot of C.Vs then they would examine them and choose who would be able to get into the next step which is an interview...
2 weeks later... and yet no calls or confirmations yet.. Actually i was not waiting their call cuz mmmm i didn't really care about work.. i just wanted to know their own opinion...
Finally the phone rang, i looked at the CallerID... it showed "--------0--------" i laughed and replied... "Hello, can i talk to haytham plz ?" "yes, u r talking to him".... the call didn't take a lot of time... about 10-15 minutes.. just asking about how i think about the work and why do i want to work.....
another week later, they sent me some mails containing my Contracts... and work policy.. blah blah blah..... i signed them then sent them back then their managers signed them and sent them back to me.....
I don't remember really what happened after that but all what i remember is that i traveled for EOI on the first day of work :D.. imagine that i took a time-off of the job on my first day :D :D.... anyway, they accepted elegantly..
Now i'm back home sweet home... started to speak with our leader here in Egypt and there in US... started to get used to the environment... to my duties....
And now i finally we started the real work, i was assigned a task to design a class that can download from http server and has the ability to resume the download if, for any reason, it's interrupted.....
The task got larger and larger till about 1 month ago when i got the final requirments documents from US team....
Anyway, all of that is gone now... i found it kinda hard to continue working and to have exams at the same time.. so i told them so, and they understood me friendly... wished to joined them later when i finish study...ISA i'll do
Let's come to the last day of work...
After leaving the work by about 1 week, i received a mail from them asking me to choose a time to have an Exit-Interview (it was the first time for me to know there is such a thing),
It was with the man i really liked from US team, kevin, he was really elegant and friendly..
All they cared about is to know why i really wanted to leave them, money... annoince... anything... i made sure it was only cuz of study.. and that ISA after finishing study, i'ld like to join them again.. blah blah blah :D
It's was a nice experince really...
C u later...
