Morocco...Day 2

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat allah wa barakatoh

Where have we stopped last time.... mmm yes, when we just arrived to Casablanca airport, the air port is really nice... it's just BIG, when u go out, u find a LOT of green colored things everywhere... just like a forest, actually, they (the mom and her daughter whom we met on the plane) that the airport is about 37km away from the town itself... (it reminds me with Cairo AirPort which is 5 minutes away from my house), anyway... the place there was just nice that Mustafa and me couldn't stop ourselves from going outside and having some pics and a single video for the place... it was just nice...

Ah, i forgot to tell u that during our 12-hour stay in the airport, we managed to put our names on the waiting menu for a flight travelling at 6:00pm (remember, we arrived at 11:00am and were supposed to travel again at 11:00pm, so this flight would make our stay only 7 hours instead of 12... good) Let me tell u the story of that waiting list...
Abdel Rahman is the person who suggested this (as far as I remember) Abdalla and Mustafa were just mmm let's say too tired to make the risk... so Me and him just started the jurny, we went to the Royal Maroc Airlines office in the Airport and a polite girl (but so busy) met us and listened to what we wanted to do... after some clicks (actually a lot cuz they were working on a CONSOLE application : ) she said it's ok... go to the CheckIn in the airport and they will do the job, we went out.. (went down stairs as they said) but didn't find any check in...
We went back to them, but she was not there... so another polite guy met us.. we told him the story again, he said, it's so fine, just go that way and u will find the check in guys, ask them to put u on the waiting list, then come back to me...
Gr8, we went out... went there and found the guy who told us 'oh no, they should have put a sticker on ur ticket that declares u r allowed to travel now...' -FINE- we went back to the office and again, we found the guy not there, so we went to another polite girl, and (for the third time) told her the story, she clicked a lot and said "oh, u will have to pay 200L.E. to do that..." we told her that the other guy was about to do that for no money... she said "it's ok then, go back to him, if he could make that for u, it's fine with me" so we waited for him... then spoke to him again, and he just said 'stupids, stupids' (he meants the guys on the Check In)... and he just put the sticker,
we went again to the check-in and got the job done Al 7amd lellah...

During this trips... we found the AUC (American University in Cairo) opening Google on their laptop... we asked, u found a free internet or u paid for one... they told us that a part of the airport is covered by a free internet wireless access... we were so happy for that discovery... so we informed Abdalla and Mustafa and went to eat in a resturant (near the free internet :D ) and just spent the rest of the jaurny till 5:00pm on the internet...

now it's 5:00pm, we rushed to the check in... there was some mess till we all got the Boarding printed, then we told the girl there about our luggages, she said "don't worry, ur luggage will travel as u travel.." so no worry.. we just went to the plane...
It -the plane- was so small.. it took about 40-45minutes to go to Fez..
...
...
...

it's now about 6:45, we r now in Fez's airport, a very very small airport -compared to Casablanca's- we waited for our luggages (as everybody else) but .... they didn't appear...
We went to responsible guys there, they took a description for our bags (although they could simply take the Luggages ID we have :D ) and colors and such.. then they told us, u will have to wait till the next flight (which is coming at 11:40 - 12:00 :D... our darling old flight)
We went out to inform (AU) Al-Akhawayn University guys (who were supposed to come to pick up us..) but a guy standing there told us that they just left :D ... our luck...
We sat together and thought a little bit then called Dr.Darhmaui (the responsible from AU) and he promised we will get a car within 1 hour...
After some time.. which we spent watching LOST.. they came (the drivers) but the Customs office refused to let any of the drivers be responsible for our luggage... Abdalla (Jazahu Allahu khayran) insisted that he will stay and we all go back to the hotel to sleep...
we went to the hotel and said Hi to Amigos and our Doctor... then we just went into deeep sleeeeep...

Tomorrow is another day... so just stay in touch...

Windows7 adds Math Input Panel

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh… I was reading a windows team post about Input Panels improvements in Windows7 [ here ]. When at the end I saw a very interesting –intuitive if you wish- new thing… which is, as you guessed, the Math Input Panel… Yes, that crappy font is mine… I “drew” that by mouse as I don’t have a tablet pen/pc. You can then paste it directly into word and it’ll recognize it as an editable equation… During my tests, the output panel (the top part) hanged, but I liked that the drawing panel was still responsive and I could still write/erase… till the top one started to respond again… One other thing to know, after you click Insert (that button down there) it copies the equation in MathML [ Wikipedia link ] format.. which is a standard way of representing equations and hence any application that recognizes the format can insert it not as an image but as a nice editable equation… If you think it recognized something wrong, you can click “Sele

Visual Studio 2008 Not saving changes or project properties?

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh (Peace upon you) I’ve recently ran into problems with VS 2008. Summarized here: When you try to edit the project properties (specially C++ projects) you are faced with a little nice message saying “Exception from HRESULT: 0xF9F0F308”. Sometimes when you are editing a file (specially large ones), VS doesn’t recognize you’ve made changes (ie doesn’t display that ‘*’ in the files tabs) hence, when you save, nothing actually gets saved. For those 2 problems, a friend explained the problem and a work around (till they officially release a fix)… Open up a Visual Studio 2008 Command Prompt Run cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE" Make a backup copy of devenv.exe in case something does not work right. ie. copy devenv.exe devenv.exe.bak Run editbin /largeaddressaware:no devenv.exe Happy VSing… :)
